A new company has been formed who's address is c/o Balfour Beatty, 350 Euston Road London. Presently some jobs with the new company are on offer: www.jobstoday.co.uk/searchjobs/?Sector=513013&LocationId=1111%2C20752050%2C20752010&radialtown=Blackpool%2C+Lancashire&countrycode=GBThis is the quote from Jobs Today's adverts: "Following the recent closure of Blackpool Airport and cessation of operations, Squires Gate Airport Operations Limited, the new operator of the site, is pleased to announce opportunities for suitably qualified personnel to be part of a new operations team to be based at the airport. The airport will be starting a new and exciting era which will see a viable and sustainable operation supporting the many operators and businesses based at the site. We are currently seeking suitably qualified, experienced and motivated people for the following positions..." Very suspicious. Looks like a pre-pack arrangement.

Local Lancashire newspapers have reported that Blackpool Airport is due to re-open next week for small non-commercial airlines only.
A company called Squires Gate Airport Operations Limited was incorporated six days ago at site owner Balfour Beatty’s offices in London. The company have also advertised for jobs at the airport, which are due to commence on December first. But what does this mean for the Island’s transport links to Blackpool?
David Buck, Managing Director of Citywing said ‘Although this is great news, nothing is finalised yet. The CAA are going to inspect the site early December and then hope to get the airfield licence back. I shall also be visiting Blackpool early in December to see if the airport is ready and if it is, when Citywing can restart operations”

There's a good story in this months Aviation news by Tony Dixon telling the history of Squires Gate from his perspective.

It is of note that Susan Kendrick is no longer employed by any airport company, having moved just down the road to become Deputy Office Manager at the Federation of Small Businesses.
