Hi
Just reading an brilliant book called "The Secret War", concerns development of radar, U boats and wartime secrets. In it there are a couple of German photos of an Fa330 actually flying. This is mostly of relevance to us oldies who remember taking the MAS/MSAE Fa330 round to many airshows many years ago. If I remember correctly a serial of 100549 springs to mind. If incorrect I am sure Brian will correct me here. Also the identification challenge , bucket of KFC to first correct i/d of the car helicopter thing!

Originally there were posts with pictures inverted, these have now been deleted and appear further down correctly orientated.
So clever I know the answer to the Hafner Rotabuggy question as well. But, did you know that the Hafner Rotachute and Hafner Rotabuggy were developed at Ringway, and are now on display at Middle Wallop with the Army Air Corps Museum. Good job for you that I'm on a diet and self-banned from fast food consumption!
The ability to 'Rotate' will be on your photo image handling site, or maybe also the image hosting site, by the time uploaded onto the forum it is too late to correct. Meanwhile I have a very sore head, from standing on it, on the PC table to look at the images. PM sent to you.
'Our' Fa.330 is now in Spain with a collector of all things WWII and has been for a couple of years now.

Ok Wel hopefully these are not upside down shots now. Obviously the Rotabuggy was not enough of a challenge so try these two! No KFC this time a tub of diet ice cream then

Sorry, haven't got a clue what this is but I noticed you displayed these or similar at airshows. So, question for you: Did you ever display one of these at 1966 squadrons headquarters at Wavertree during the early seventies?

This looks very much like a Focke-Achgelis FA330. A type of glider with a rotating wing like an Autogyro. These were towed behind German U-boat submarines with an observer on board. Merseyside Aviation Society used to have one in their old clubhouse at Speke and I think it went to Manchester Museum of Aviation. Regards Beemer.

Ste
In answer to your question , I do seem to remember taking it to an ATC event in Wavertree.
Me323 and the Gotha are perfectly correct. I will have to look harder in the book for some even more obscure photos.
Can anyone recall how the MSAE ever managed to acquire the Fa330

I remember the Fa 330 going to the ATC event as well. At the time it lived in Phil Dales garage and he only lived round the corner. I seem to recall he had something to do with that particular squadron.
