Evening all
Just driven past Seaforth docks and noticed a helicopter sitting by the road. From a quick glance it appeared to be an S-61 under plastic sheeting, though I would have thought a Puma would be more likely.

Quite certainly a Sikorsky S-61N. The 'OAS' on the cabin roof, supported by the colour scheme with white fuselage with red nose and tail show the previous operator as 'Coast Guard' - likely one of the S-61Ns recently replaced by Sikorsky S-92s in the same role.
Good spot that 'Nachtjager' and thanks for passing on such an interesting sighting.

Hi They usualy have the last 2 letters on the nose..G-ATFM has been in the falklands for some years but I think it is still in the old colours.
Probably end up unknown as per the last 2 Puma's that arrived from abroad not long ago

If it's at Seaforth, fellow flickr photographer Mark Holt is your man for the inside info. www.flickr.com/photos/mark_holt_photography/Some fantastic shots on his flickr page,he is a real mil air geek and no mistake...a few on his page of some new chinooks recently being unloaded at the container terminal. Great enthusiast & skilled amateur photographer . Why not send him a Flickrmail. Update : Could it be "Mike Uniform" G-BIMU the Stornaway Heli ? I know another fellow flickr photographer ,Chris Murray who is a HM Coastguard winchman up there in Scotland.Hes worked MU and others for years. Brave Guy,Goes out to his office which is open for business 24/7/365 in all sorts of crazy weather ! Chris is a Superb amateur "Togger" also.
