Missed the Tahiti, it was the wrong side of the sun for me anyway Another on the wrong side came past @ 11.35am aprox. Obviously not on FR24.. this cheeky little USAF Galaxy C5, 85-0007 calling "Reach 265" with london control @ FL340 heading westbound/nat tracks. Crap scopeing photo though , this one was taken a few mins after putting the scope out in the garden and in desperation to catch my first "gally"... The scope tube is cooling very fast from being indoors all night which changes the alignment of mirrors & distorts images. A Flickr reject im afraid "]I have to re align a few times per session due to changing scope tube temp. Normally takes about 30 mins for the tube to become similar to outside & settle down, then shes good to go . I had some better images later on which i will put up but changes in the upper air with the cold air pushing down to us from iceland and warm air pushing up from biscay,we are stuck in the middle...again ! Low level moist air & mist in our vicinity made for a partially hazy and difficult spotting session.

A few from earlier today when the optics had settled as promised and we were getting some destinations further south than the norm due to changing jetstream conditions. Not perfect conditions as said but at least it wasnt raining and I had my wellies on (garden still partially flooded) for this session of 2 hrs or so and my feet were perfectly dry this time ! You can see the difference in the photos when the tube and mirrors had cooled off.
