Good load outbound, I fly out next Friday for the weekend, I will feedback the loads too. Im guessing the outbound was football related? returns from the midweek match?

Flew out to Bergen this morning, inbound looked over 50+ (I got distracted while counting) my out bound flight had around 15 empty seats on, thought the loads for both sectors where good especially the inbound considering there isn’t Prem football on this weekend. Great service too 😊

Take it that it was a Q400, what's the cabin noise like?

Flew back this morning I could only see one seat empty, a lot of passengers where coming over to watch the Champions league match this week. I did see a few faces that where on the Friday service so good to see people using it for weekend city breaks from the UK. Another Great service this morning too. I will be returning to BGO, if anyone is thinking of going for a city break you should and do the Norway in a nutshell day trip on Trains, cruise around the Fjords.

That is good to see the loads you reported. Maybe the Emb 195 was just too large, and the Dash 8 is the right size for the market at this point. I heartily agree about Bergen being a great city to visit. I went on the Norway in a Nutshell tour from Oslo many years ago, pairing it with three days in Bergen. The train ride down to Flam and the fast ferry through the fjords were spectacular.

Just noticed that Norwegian are to launch a twice weekly (Mon/Fri) service from Bergen to MAN. That will be in direct competition with Wideroe to LPL and SAS to MAN on similar days. Given that Wideroe carried 984 on the route in April and SAS 1320, it appears unlikely that there is sufficient demand for a third carrier to the North West, particularly as Norwegian operates larger aircraft.

Probably an attempt to remove Wideroe or SAS as a competitor at Manchester. Not really a good idea considering the amount of financial trouble Norwegian are in at the moment. Having said that are either Wideroe or SAS attacking or threatening Norwegian elsewhere? Could well be the start/continuation of a survival battle between one or both of the airlines.

I too saw this advertised on facebook. The Norwegian post had hundreds of comments, one of the most liked was someone saying something along the lines of; This is great news for me as I live in liverpool and finally I don't have to travel to Gatwick to get to Bergen anymore.
They implied they made the journey regularly.
Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence! Head against the wall moment!

If this person wanted to travel just now, I think I am right in saying there is no possibility of flying from Liverpool. Have to wait until the soccer season starts. Hopefully the loyal and specialist following that Wideroe have built up will carry them through.

My interpretation the person writing the quoted statement relies on a travel department of his London based employers to organise his travel. They have expertise (and discount/rewards?) from London's Airports, so book all employees via London. Equally to me it seems that many travellers now go first to a 'cheap' flights' website, look to see which airlines have direct flights on the routes, then book(the information provided that way much depends on the day of the week selected, not providing a 'bigger' picture of what is available on other days of the week). I feel this guy's ignorance could based on getting others to do the booking for him, rather than him investigating the alternatives from the North West before accepting the London flight - he clearly hasn't or he would be flying SAS from Manchester via Stockholm or Oslo!

I read it as him not knowing, which is a problem for the airport.
It seems to me that routes have 'failed' due to the lack of awareness of the public. The airport needs to have a rethink as to how it publicises its new routes that aren't flown by the like of EZY/FR.

Totally agree and 'twas ever thus. Even though I now live far away, I am amazed by family members living on Merseyside who have no idea of what is available outside EasyJet and Ryanair. My brother in law now retired is one of them. There was a time when there was a flight to Southampton. He went there regularly..from Manchester. He had no idea of the then service by Eastern, (I Think). Even last year, he took a flight to one of the destinations offered by Blue Air.. from Manchester. Until I pointed it out he had no idea. Long time ago there was a regular Dan Air comet service to Amsterdam. I toured Liverpool and asked about 25 travel agents how they could get me to Amsterdam. Every Single one directed me to the BEA service from Manchester, with one of them saying I could go by Aer Lingus from Manchester too. And closer to home, I mix with lots of people from my home village and nearby town of Lucon. Again, so many of them have no idea of the range of flights available from our Local, La Rochelle. Their first port of call is always Nantes. Seems to be a general problem for regional airports.
