My next build is an Airfix Eurofighter Typhoon. It's a relatively older kit as you can tell from the decals and the instructions are just one sheet. 2018-10-29_07-53-19 by Christopher Newton, on Flickr Chris

I have half saved it. It wont be the best looking around the nose cone or accurate but it looks ok and half decent from a distance. The paint has been rectified with a bit of sanding. IMG_20181104_190831 by Christopher Newton, on Flickr Chris

Glad you have managed to salvage it Chris. I have had a similar problem with paint blister in the past but that was due to using acrylic paint as a primer and enamel as the top coat and applying to much at once, a lesson learnt as they say.

Chris, I had same issue when building a few models as a lad. I think it is the way poly cement actually works by design. I think it actually melts the surface of the plastic part its applied to (perhaps a few tens of microns thick depending on amount applied) then the cement dries/evaporates returning the plastic parts back to a solid state.

Radiostationx is correct Chris. As for the under carriage try a good quality superglue suitable for all plastics. I have found this to be far better than poly cement and quicker to set. Just don’t get it everywhere. 😂 I take it you had glued the ballast weight in the nose with poly. I did this too a couple of my models early on, my solution was to buy a cool glue gun rather than a hot glue gun as it doesn’t get hot enough to melt the plastic or burn your skin. Coating the ballast weight is the best way I have found to do this.
