Compared with , say, 20/30 years ago, how busy is the MSC these days?

Ron very little pass thru, this being one of them. A lot of pleasure trips like Royal Iris and Daniel Adamson use it but not like the old days.Saying that it is very busy up to Runcorn Docks (cement boats) and Stanlow with oil and gases and in the past 20 years I use to load the Northern Star with liquid Chlorine for Northern Ireland but that is no more. Ron, this free website is very useful for looking at marine traffic worldwide, including origin and destination as well as lots of facts and photos. Think of it as FlightRadar24 of the seas. I often look at it, and invariably look at the traffic on the Mersey and in the docks. Guess that this comes from having my father in the Merchant Navy and spending a lot of time down at the docks as a kid. www.marinetraffic.com

That's what I use and on this occasion I pulled up in Mersey Road checked my app and it showed the Veritas was a few hundred yards away. Simples.
