Well today was to be my first taste of an airshow in Japan!!! Tachikawa is a Japanese army base, but also house's a fire and a police unit....all of whom flew in the display. Gates open VERY promptly at the time they are supposed to, as did the car park! A nice orderly queue of cars had formed prior to it opening, did feel sorry for the guy whose car broke down just as we started moving. Just a quick but polite stop for a back search, and we were in! Longish walk down towards the hangers just following all the locals, and then through a hanger.....a microlight type of thing!!! Sorry didnt even shoot this as I don't collect them. Out the other side....CHOPPERS!!! Sat quietly on her own was an OH-1 32630 by John Spencer, on Flickr Slightly strange looking and just the one. Parked out on the grass were UH-1's, OH-6's, AH-1's, CH-47's.....these later were giving rides to the public, but the queue was tooooo long!!! Over the far side the fire and police choppers were also being readied for display. Here is a selection, there are more in my flikr album: 31311-3 by John Spencer, on Flickr 41810 by John Spencer, on Flickr 41818 by John Spencer, on Flickr 41834-2 by John Spencer, on Flickr 52918-2 by John Spencer, on Flickr 52918-4 by John Spencer, on Flickr 73439 by John Spencer, on Flickr AH1-3 by John Spencer, on Flickr JA14MP by John Spencer, on Flickr JA114TD by John Spencer, on Flickr JA119B by John Spencer, on Flickr JA119E by John Spencer, on Flickr
