The following day was Gifu show, so as is usual up with the Sun, shower, brekky at 06:30, then get the wheels out of the parking garage.......let me explain! Japanese cities can get so overcrowded with so little spare space....this is why they make such small cars like the cube car etc...these fit the space's they do have and command lower taxes. Our hotel for the night didnt have a car park as we know it, more like the one in a certain episode of Thunderbirds....except you don't go in with the car. You merely drive it into the lift, get out. The magic happens now as it parks your car for you, somewhere above in a tall building, but next to the hotel. In the morning, you give the little man your ticket, and not only does your car come back to you, but it has also turned around facing out, ready for you to load and drive off!!
The decision had already been taken not to go into the show as everything would have to be shot into sun, and we had been given a good location....albeit up a mountain....a small mountain but still a mountain!! Picture 4 old blokes huffing and puffing up and up and up......that was us!! Took a few stops to regain breath but we eventually got to the top, and what we found was yes a great view into the base, and having seen some images from up there, they would have been awesome shots, but the amount of photographers up there resembled Wembley on cup final day!!! It was PACKED!

We quickly decided that as there was zero space, there would be no way to compose a decent shot, so we headed off to a spot at the other end of the drome. Going down the mountain was only slightly easier due to all the loose rocks underfoot, Dan nearly ended up on his butt!!
So the spot we were headed to is a public park, I'm guessing families go there to play, have picnics etc, but for some obscure reason the authorities had closed off the car park, so we had a bit of a hunt for a parking spot, found a good one.....later found we'd gotten a parking ticket!!!! £150!!! And the agro to pay it is a whole nother story!!
Here are a few of the shots, there are lots more from here on my flikr, hope you enjoy.
