IS THERE A FUTURE FOR THE 'MANCHESTER BASED AIRLINERS SECTION'?
This section has not been added to for three and half years. Unless requested otherwise, Admin will delete the whole moribund thread. Actually in reality I think it is possible to hide the Section, so the content will remain saved, but only accessible via Admin as it will not appear on the Front Page Section Index list.
ARE THERE FACTUAL TOPICS THAT MEMBERS WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAVE THEIR OWN SECTION?
As Admin will have to enter the Forum Control Panel, something we try to do as little as possible, as we fear an accidental action could remove something essential, this is an opportunity to create new Sections. Although, as anyone who follows the forum.airshow.co.uk site will know, in an update a few weeks ago they unintentionally totally removed in a single stroke every single post on the site made since 1st January 2021. Embarrassing and frustrating for their Mods and devastating for their regular contributors.
I digress. There is an opportunity to create new Section(s). Certainly after 13 years, some of the existing sections are now large, the Liverpool Airport Nostalgia section being just one. Balanced against starting a new section is that finding and moving existing relevant threads into it is a long and tedious job for me! My candidates for their own viable Nostalgia Sections are a thread for the Isle of Man (Ronaldsway/Jurby/Andreas) in Nostalgia and History and Blackpool/Warton/Samlesbury/Inskip also in Nostalgia and History. Also maybe a Section for Burtonwood/Hooton Park/Knowsley Park/Stretton/West Kirby/Woodvale - all these places are currently in the blanket coverage of 'History and Memories-Further Afield' and have good factual material hidden away pages back. The new sections joining the well established Nostalgia sections for Liverpool, Manchester and Hawarden. Or we could, which is the simplest option for Admin, just leave things exactly as they are.
Again it would take some time to find and move posts in to new section, but it has often struck me that while visits to aviation museums and other preserved aircraft (eg gate guardians) are currently happily included in 'UK other locations' and 'Rest of the World locations' that Sections for just Museum visits and static displayed non-flying aircraft in UK and Overseas would highlight their aircraft more. Just a thought, how would those who visit and report on Museums and Gate Guardians feel?
Anyone any thoughts? The most recently introduced completely new Section was that for Aero Modelers. We were a little skeptical at first, but having the Section has certainly encouraged some fascinating posts.
