Very politely put, Brian! I suppose this is the standard of journalism we have to expect these days as 'interns' sit behind their computer screens and search Google Earth for something interesting to write about, for which they will be paid buttons; meanwhile the advertising revenue goes into the directors' pockets.
Being an old codger, I remember a bloke called Roy Corlett, who was the aviation correspondent for the Daily Post & Echo and was often to be found hanging around the airport. Knew loads of people there, from the toilet cleaners to the Airport Director. Knew his stuff too, and if he didn't, he'd ask someone sensible for an explanation. I'm pleased to say that Roy is still around and still has his love of aviation.
