Of little interest to most on here but nevertheless I think this is an interesting development. For very many years, some routes in France have been deemed to be of national importance, especially where rail services are poor. Typical is the route La Rochelle/Lyon. For as long as I can remember it was with subsidies by Air Trance, then Airlinair who became Hop and lastly by Chalair. The latter giving up in a few days time. They cannot make anything even with the subsidy. Before Covid we had two trips per in each direction. Post covid down to one per day. EayJet tendered for, and won a subsidy to take over the route which starts on April 17th and runs to October. As far as I know this is the first time an airline (loco) has been contracted in this way, although other more subtle deals have been around. A new contract for several years duration is planned from October onwards. From LFBH, easy jet already operate to Gatwick, Bristol, Manchester, Nice and Geneva. I am interested to see how this works out. A link is attached. I hope it comes up in English but if not your browser can sort it out for you. www.francebleu.fr/infos/transports/aeroport-la-rochelle-ile-de-re-la-compagnie-easyjet-reprend-la-ligne-la-rochelle-lyon-5129500
