Our latest Cirrus resident flew to Gloucester on 20th February and it is currently grounded. It is awaiting an upgrade following issues with Continental engines. It was noted today (17th March) along with many others - apparently 16 were present on the day of the grounding order.

Continental issued a Service Bulletin (SB) which affects all Cirrus SR22 and SR22T aircraft manufactured between June 1,2021 and Feb 7,2023 - that is about 700 aircraft grounded worldwide. The FAA has also issued an Airworthiness Directive (AD) which is more restrictive than the original Continental SB. I presume that all non US registered Cirrii(?) will also have to comply with the FAA restrictions. The SR20 is not affected, nor are the SR22 aircraft manufactured before June 1, 2021. Getting the parts shipped from the USA and then waiting for their turn in the maintenance shop is unfortunately going to take some time.
