Welcome to NWAN Forum 'Eugarp'. It was with very little expectation of finding an answer that I had a look in our Liverpool Airport visiting aircraft records, which I have transcribed onto digital Excel spreadsheet for all the '60s and '70s. To my amazement, due to there being poor weather around and disruption to routine operations in early April 1977, I actually have found clues that might help! I also have found an issue with the details you provide. 1969: Cambrian in early summer operated a daily Dublin rotation in the late afternoon using Viscount aircraft. The Viscount aircraft would be one of their fleet of 11 at time: G-ALWF, G-AMNZ, G-AMOA, G-AMOC, G-AMOE, G-AMOG, G-AMOH, G-AMOJ, G-AMON, G-AMOO and G-AMOP. That is as close as I can get. However there is a problem as Cambrian did not take delivery of their first BAC-111 until mid December 1969! On their Liverpool flights Aer Lingus used Friendships and Viscounts until March, then Viscounts with occasional use of a BAC-111 in mid summer. In April use of a BAC-111 was considered rare enough to note EI-ANE being used on the Dublin service, substituting for a Viscount on 8/4/69. 1977, DUB-LPL: For 7th April, which was a Thursday the Airport timetables show that there were two flights scheduled. A British Airways Viscount on BZ623 leaving Dublin at 1110 and arriving Liverpool 1155. With an Aer Lingus Boeing 737 on EI190 leaving Dublin 1845 and arriving Liverpool 1925. Now this is where it gets interesting as our visiting aircraft records (which also sometimes records alteration to the routine) show that on 7/4 the Aer Lingus flight, operated by Boeing 737 EI-ASE combined two services, so operated DUB-GLA-LPL-DUB. Any recollection of a landing at Glasgow and sitting on the aircraft as passengers disembarked and embarked before flying onto a late evening arrival at Liverpool? If not, likely you flew earlier in the day on the BA Viscount. 1977, LPL-DUB: 11th April was a Monday so the same pattern of flights, except that Aer Lingus programmed a BAC-111 rather than a Boeing 737. So your choice of operator/aircraft are British Airways Viscount on BZ623 departing Liverpool at 1225, arriving Dublin 1305 or Aer Lingus BAC-111 leaving Liverpool on EI 191 at 2010, arriving at Dublin 2050. Again this, unusually, gets interesting! On 11/4 it is recorded by us that the BA Viscount Dublin service ran in reverse as LPL-DUB-LPL, BZ1624/1623 (the extra digit showing ATC that the flight was not following the scheduled times) and was operated by Viscount G-AOYN. A spare Viscount was available at Liverpool as all three Heathrow rotations were cancelled due to fog at London, so with an aircraft on the apron, the Dublin flight likely would have left Liverpool on time, the passengers from Dublin having a frustrating delay. So where you on a lunch time Viscount G-AOYN, or, if in the evening on an Aer Lingus BAC-111 (so perm one from EI-ANE, EI-ANF, EI-ANG or EI-ANH)? When I turned to my records on reading your long-shot question thought I had zero chance of a registration, but knew I could offer you the scheduled times and timetabled aircraft type to stir any memories. Absolutely amazingly for an event 46 years ago, you now have a 50-50 chance of a registration. Over to your little grey cells, now they have more detail to work with. My passenger logbook record shows that on Tuesday 2nd August 1977 I flew to Dublin on BZ624 Viscount G-AOYM and home on Wednesday 10th August 1977 on EI190 Boeing 737 EI-BCR, what I did in between is recorded on NWAN thread: derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/27286/memorable-flights-boeing-viscounts-sandringham (the third and final section). ******I'LL MOVE THIS THREAD TO 'NOSTALGIA' SHORTLY, BUT LEAVING IT HERE FOR NOW SO THE POSTER CAN FIND THE REPLY!!*****

In the 1960s and 1970s the daily extract from the ATC Logs basically recorded the visiting aircraft, ignoring regular airliners and resident general aviation aircraft. The only times routine airliners were recorded was if there was a change of type or the routine drastically altered. You were lucky with the 1977 dates as bad weather in the South of England had disrupted flights. The British Airways BZ623/624 Viscount flight on 7th April 1977 was not recorded by us, however because on 11th April 1977 unusually the service operated in the opposite direction (ie LPL-DUB-LPL rather than DUB-LPL-DUB) it was recorded and was operated by Viscount 806 G-AOYN. A note on the flight numbers. British Airways flights were, and still are, BA ticket flight numbers. When Cambrian CS ( radio call-sign 'Cambrian') and Northeast (NE) were both absorbed into BA ('Speedbird'), their flights became BZ ('Albion') for a number of years before being absorbed fully into BA. For your new enquiry regarding 1970 dates, it would seem all Cambrian flights flew without incident on the dates provided as no record has been made by us. However, if you had flown with Aer Lingus over the popular Easter weekend, as they used BAC-111s on their service rather than the routine Viscounts, so it is recorded that they operated EI-ANE on Good Friday and EI-ANH on Easter Monday. Every scrap of information we recorded regarding aircraft movements in 1969 and for 1970 are on: derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/34594/visiting-aircraft-logs-review-1969derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/34660/visiting-aircraft-logs-review-1970While I have the 1977 records typed out, they have not yet been published on NWAN Forum - partly because there is so much information resulting in some very long posts. As you can see in 1969 and 1970 there is not much relating to scheduled services recorded, you were just very lucky to us to have recorded the 11th April 1977 service.

As stated earlier, on 27th March 1977 EI190 DUB-LPL via GLA was Boeing 737 EI-ASE, the flight on 30th March 1977 EI191, LPL-DUB was one of their 4 BAC-111s, but which one was not noted at the time, being every-day common aircraft.
In 1976 the flight numbers were the same, EI190 DUB-LPL and EI191 LPL-DUB, operating in the evening.
Sometime tomorrow (Wednesday) I'll be moving this thread to the Liverpool Airport threads of the 'Nostalgia' section out of 'Liverpool Airport News'.
