I have flown once before with Jet 2 from Manchester to Verona and they were fine. I will certainly be looking at their programme from LPL next year.

I recall recently expressing my opinion that there is no chance Jet 2 would move in due to proximity to main base of MCR. Looks like I was wrong which according to my wife is most of the time anyway.! Excellent news and while I can see RYR upping their game , I have a concern that EZY having aimed more at leisure destinations and pulled back from cities may not fight back and use it as an excuse to drop some routes. So we end up with not much more just a different operator. However that is not necessarily such a bad thing as EZY haven’t shown much loyalty to us in past few years. Hopefully the airport will respond with doing some improvements to tatty covered walkway along side of apron and improve initial “border” . Overall though excellent news and credit to management.

Quite right the passenger walkways terrible, very cold in the winter hot in the summer and when it rains you are walking in n a stream of water, yes a lot of improvements need to be done to the outside areas.

Been waiting for this to happen for a long time, well done to all fot getting Jet2 into the airport, all three airlines compete well at Manchester,so they can do it at Lpl. I sent quite a few emails to Jet2 over the last few years, they finally realise the demand is very high in the Lpl city region.

Liverpool has needed a 3rd carrier to compete with EZY and FR for some time. Both of those have trod water for some years. This is good news for Liverpool Airport and the city.

Why is that Wizzair are so frequently overlooked? They have been the 'third force' at John Lennon for a considerable number of years and have competed with Ryanair and EasyJet (and for a while Blue Air too). Don't be dismissive of their place at Liverpool, although perhaps if they flew more of their JLA services in day-light hours, we might notice them a little more!
As an aside, I've just been on a small group tour for a week. For me a 'staycation', however four of the other members joined the group from the UK, flying from Bristol, East Midlands and Birmingham to Malaga. They all used either Jet2 or TUI in preference to EasyJet or Ryanair despite likely paying more! Why, because they feel that all the fare 'add-ons' raise the fare to beyond their expectations and would prefer to pay what they are initially asked for, while knowing that the service levels aboard will match their expectations. They also have observed the way that particularly Jet2 responded to customers with prompt, no questions, no fudging refunds etc when Covid cancelled travel. Not the first time I've heard kudos given to Jet2 for their rapid and positive response to the Covid travel shut-downs.

I have been a fan of Wizzair since day 1 and esp. as they seem to go for steady as she goes progress. I noticed and am pleased that thejet2 route plan seems not to interfere with Wizz from Liverpool at all. In fact I thought of jet2 yesterday as being the fourth corner of a jig saw, where we have some loose pieces in the middle and we need a few more to make up a complete picture.

I have also seen detailed articles in the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror about the Jet2 launch from Liverpool. Both articles listed destinations, Frequency for each route and days of operation. It was more like an sdver, lol.

The rumour I heard the other day was that XLR could potentially be getting their own tarmac as the TDA takes up alot of the aprons stands. I doubt Jet2 would agree to use remote stands especially in the morning wave. I could personally see them having parked on 8,9,10 and maybe one of the 30s If Jet2 come in and XLR was not to move then it means the airport would not be able to accept as much bizz jet traffic as it does. (Bear in mind easyjet will not park all their planes on Tango at the same time so for example they have 7 bases they will park , 1,2,51,52,53,54 and 37 so there isn’t so much congestion on Tango in the morning wave)
