My first visit to this range, hoping to see the RNLAF helicopters on detachment to Carlisle Airport. It's a large range by UK standards, and much of the time it's frustrating because you can hear the action but the view is obstructed by hills and plantations. Patience was required, and the midges were the worst I've ever experienced, but my luck was in on both days. On the 24th and 25th the Dutch were flying fairly intensively between around 3pm and midnight.
