The Lovely grass aerodrome of Middle Wallop. I cannot remember whether or not this was an MSAE trip or just a small group of us on one of our long weekends in a mini bus and a couple of cars. I suspect the latter. After I moved to Wiltshire in 1972 Middle Wallop became a favourite stopping point for a look over the fence on the way from here or there. I have a memory of a DC-6 being seen there on one occasion, when I made a rare rare visit back to UK from France. ( Mid to late 2000's) Anyway it seems to have been a worthwhile trip. I fully remember the hangars being jam packed full of Chipmunks, Auster AOP's and Scouts, and yet I have no photos to show for it. Nevertheless the selection I have chosen here gives a taste of what the day was like. I included the two real civvie. ones as being either unusual at the time, or rare as of now. There was a flying display of sorts. The few shots I have do not justify the time it will take me to restore them.
