Hello group Can anybody recommend accommodation with a view of operations at SEA? Good spotting and happy new year. Gareth

The doubletree is the best - if I remember it’s room in tower block facing the airport / one of the mountain ranges - can’t remember which but a quick look on Google maps will confirm.( some have balconies from where quite good photos can be had). With an airport facing room on high floor you will see everything ( probably need FR24 etc to get some). It is quite expensive though and best to sign up for the Hilton Honors program that way you can check in online/app the day before to hopefully get the right room and the Wi-Fi is then free. I’ve used the days inn as a cheap alternative with a room on top floor (4th I think) allowing you either limited views of aircraft on approach/take off depending on wind ( twin bed rooms) or towards the airport ( king beds -although haven’t had a king bed room yet), I’m due to be staying there for a night next week so will try to remember to ask. But if you can afford it the doubletree is best ( think it’s something like $25/30 per night for parking too ! Days inn is free parking) Any questions etc just ask away.

Just a quick update as I said I’d try to get a room facing the airport at the days inn last week - well as my flight from Las Vegas was delayed I didn’t get to hotel until after 01:00 so unable to have a choice of rooms ! I was on second floor facing away from airport but still had a chance to see take offs ( but had to be very quick).
