Little Rissington Airshow 29th. August 1964.
60 years ago this year, therefore really nostalgic.
There was a trip to it by four Merseyside members (PHB, CMW, CEB and myself KJW) but no report went in the magazine. I have found little about it on the internet. I have written one , descriptions, a log of the day and 26 colour photographs that I took.
It has been published in Backtrack 28 the Magazine of the Blackpool Aviation Society which by coincidence I edit. If you would like a free pdf of this article you are welcome. It is like my interest in aircraft a product of the MGAE (later MSAE) Email me at John.w144@btinternet.com remembering to ask for Little Rissington 1964
John Wiseman – I joined the MGAE in 1958 which makes me officially……….old.

I can highly recommend this read. John sent me a copy just recently. I loved it.
Its quite a precise log with plenty of colour photos to name but a few:- Varsity, Beverly, Hastings, Skeeter and Tweety Birds of the Portugese air force. This is a look back at a typical RAF country pastoral aerodrome of which at one time there were many. Little Rissington was one of my favourites destinations, which sadly by the time I moved to live in The Cotswolds had just about shut up shop and gone except for Air cadet gliders and the odd training flight. I was not a member of this trip but it took me back to memories of a similar trip there, and to many others.
In John's log, don't forget to read about the journey home and the logging of a number of B-47Es at Brize Norton.
I put this report firmly down in the category of :- "Gosh, how lucky we were!", and thanks for writing it.
