Just returned from Oporto. (To Nantes) with Transavia. Good trip. Will write more later.
At the departure gate we passed an amusing 45 minutes watching Ryanair passengers who were compelled to "try out" hand luggage in the jig provided. Although I have seen these things many times, I have never seen them so vigorously enforced before. I estimate the desk collected a couple of hundred Euro off each flight. The French going to Beauvais were the most cheeky. One couple had two very large suitcases each. The Italians going to Pisa were just as much fun and far more excitable. Great entertainment for free

If they keep treating passengers like this as the larger airlines costs come even more in line with Ryanairs they too will be downsizing in a big way. As they say - abuse it, loose it.
Surely, it must be time for a Senior management change at this one.

I has a similar time @ Prestwick watching the Ground Monkeys applying the Ryanair Baggage Regulations to an unsuspecting passengers who were called froward for boarding, but was it applied consistantly, well I would have to say NO to that.
You will be targeted if you have a Wheely Case. There Prize if you loose £35.00 to put the case in the hold
