Won't be climbing a hill knee deep in snow again in a hurry :PP A bit of a disappointing day, made better by the company and the light on the lynx pass. We were 'carparked' by a Lynx on the way up. 2 SQN GR4 and 3 SQN Tiffie both went through Dunmail but didn't take the bends. Finally the day was saved by another Lynx in gorgeous light. Wasn't too cold thanks to the sun and the lack of wind, but was getting a bit chilly later on (especially the feet... ) 1.Ambleside 2. The Nutters 3. GR4 4. Tiffie 5. Lynx :Yahoo!: 6. 7. 8. .mic

Full marks for effort in those temperatures today.
I tried that location (variously refered to as Rydal, Lantys Scar, Loughrigg East) a few times last summer but found it very frustrating watching most of the traffic go overhead or pass to the West of Loughrigg. However it is an ace location when you do get the traffic, as demonstrated by those cracking Lynx shots.
Cheers

Yep, Ian, Ed and Steve up there today Light was awesome all day, and it actually wasn't that cold (apart from feet )...the worst bit was climbing up there in up to a foot of snow....made even the flat bits hard work... .mic

Spot on there Mic, nutters the lot of you!! I find it hard enough clambering up Cad and Bwlch in the summer never mind in all that! Top marks, and rewarded by the stunning light on the Lynx as Shaun has said Regards Alex

Good morning Mic. I think if Ian spends any more time up those hills he will have to start paying council tax in Grasmere!! Next time you see him say hello from me.
Cheers

One of the things I said I'd do when I moved up to the NW was wander up into the hills for these kind of shot's, and here I am, 3 years on......still not been!!!!! :-(
