Slide show of the construction of the Speke Aerodrome, Dragon Rapide replica.
It was constructed between Jan and Sept 2001 and this illustrated talk starts with the brief by the-then Marriott Hotel and Neptune Developments to build a full-size aircraft replica to stand at the front of the refurbished old Liverpool Airport terminal buildings.
All the trials, tribulations and technical details are laid bare in this 144-slide anniversary talk on what is now a well-known and coveted part of Liverpool's aviation preservation activity.
Speaker - Mike Davey.

Apologies gents,
I ran the "ad" off at the last minute and omitted the address of TWAS. For future reference it is The Roundel Club, Alton Rd, Oxton, Birkenhead.
The speaker is available for other venues/societies should anyone be interested in hearing the talk. Just contact via this thread.

TWAS meetings are usually held on the first Sunday in every month, start time is 8pm finishing 10pm ish. Entrance fee is £3. Our next speaker is a Wirral based resident who will be recounting his experiences flying Lancasters in WW2. Please note, May's meeting will be May 8th because of the Royal Wedding (arghhh).
