It is sad that strikes have too happen, but the Govenment have to be shown the feeling of the working class, who are unfairly losing their jobs. At least the strikes if they happen will be on a Thursday. But I suppose it will be the knock on effect which will effect flights into and beyond the weekend. Bob

As I have said before, I have been Conservative/to the right all of my life, but I do agree that all workers must fight like hell to keep their pension rights. The last government, and now this one too, not to mention the banks, the financial markets and the head of the Bank of England have all conspired to reduce the value of our pensions. Fight, and strike if really necessary, or regret it in time to come. RT

Don't know where Travel Weekly got their information from but the majority of Air Traffic Controllers in the UK are represented by Prospect and are not involved in this dispute. Air Traffic Assistants employed by NATS are represented by PCS, but once again are not involved, NATS was part privitised years ago.

Strikes among public sector workers begin. Some UK Border Agency staff began strike action at 1800 BST, more to join strike action. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13967580This might cause some delays or flight cancellations tomorrow. Mike / Speedbird

Good idea let`s all encourage people to turn Britain into another country which will resemble Greece or anyone of the myriad of civil unrest places around the world. What we should avoid doing is clearly not trying to support a Government which is at least trying sort the financial mess this country had been allowed to descended into. Strikes and Civil unrest will gain nothing worthwhile.
