Currently airborne in Air to Air Refuelling Area 13 (Irish Sea) is the new Airbus tanker callsign CASA 335, tanking with Warton based Typhoon callsign Tarnish 09.

Alex, is Warton runway open again as they were re-surfacing it about 3 weeks ago? Regards Beemer.

Hi Beemer, yes runway reopened Tuesday 7th I think, was a little delayed due to weather and things. Today's dry tanking was with 41 Sqn Tornado GR4 callsign REBEL 80 which recovered to Warton.

Thanks Alex. On a different subject, a program the other night on TV "Made in Britain" featured the Mantis pilotless aircraft based at Warton. It explained what the aircraft was capable of, taking off, flying and landing with-out human intervention,and I am lead to believe that it hasn't flown for two years. Regards Beemer.
