Great pics there John, I wanted to do Zurich the other month but ended up in FRA instead. Is it expensive there and where did you stay, also can the terrace get overcrowded at weekends do you know?

Steve, to answer your questions it is very expensive including McDonalds. We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express which is 15 minutes walk to the heliport on the far side. Great for photos after about 11:30hrs 'ish but still possible never the less. You can then walk back to the hotel and get the free bus around to the terminal and go on the Terrace that costs 2 francs. You can also view from P6 car park and then walk around to the GA. I will try to find some receipts and give you an idea of prices later. Regards Beemer.

Thanks for the comments, Calflier and Graham. Steve with regards to Zurich being expensive, a pint (well not quite a pint) of beer is about £6.00 so no chance of getting drunk. A McDonalds Chickensandwich with fries and coffee is FR12.50 or in sterling £10.50p. I don't know McD's prices over here as I don't use them but they seem dear to me. John we didn't do the ramp tour this time as we could see all we required from the terrace and heliport. For any one who has not been the viewing facilities at the heliport are brilliant. If you look at my photo of HB-IOI Edelweiss A330 just above the fuselage is the viewing area with cafe and toilets and just behind the trees to the right is the Park Inn hotel and Holiday Inn Express. Hope this helps, regards Beemer.

Ian I don't know if you know but at the heliport viewing spot they have cut-outs in the fence for photographers to poke their lenses through to take photos. Good idea, or what! Regards Beemer.

Thanks for the info on prices, it does appear expensive. The beer will have to be off the menu, but I dont drink anyway :-). Honest lol

As others have said, excellent pics - and very useful info - thanks for sharing. The holes in the fence remind me of Miami....if only the UK could be a bit more accommodating eh?
