Hi Folks,
Is there any way of finding times and dates in advance for arrivals and departures of any of the beluga flights into Hawarden?
I'd like to nip across and get some pics if poss but I can't afford to sit waiting day after day just for a lucky chance...
Thanks
Cliff.

Excuse my ignorance Jake, but I can't think of any "obvious" commercially sensitive reasons When you say "commercially" do you mean Airbus hiding their movements from the likes of Boeing? Or do you mean in case of terrorist threat? I don't understand either by the way, because you can't miss the big bird coming and going, and I'd assume LPL to be a bigger and better terrorist target and just as easy to attack...?

clifftop --its not to hide production from boeing, these aircraft are a major link in the production process for Airbus and also a clear target for any terrorist organisation. So you don't advertise there schedule to the wrong type of people do you.

I know what you mean mate, but I still don't get it.
As I say, surely bringing down an airliner full of people at a busy international airport would be a greater "score" for terrorists?
Apart from the horrific loss of lives, the problems associated with an out of use runway for several days would be huge too.
What I'm getting at is why the big secret? Why not publish expected arr and dep times?
Ryanair, easyJet et al do it every single day at LPL.

The service clearly operates on an "ad hoc" basis to service the demands of the entire EADS European operation. Suggestions that movements are sensitive is nonsense.
When not being used to ferry wings Beluga aircraft are used by Airbus International for other worldwide cargo operations. For instance they helped bring in relief supplies to New Orleans after the hurricane and EADS were more than happy to publicise these movements in advance, quoting airfields and landing / departure times. Similarly they published advanced times for appearances by the Beluga at the Paris airshow.
The A380 is potentially a greater concern but there is no problem in tracking its movements and when that aircraft did a flypast at LPL last year its precise timetable for the whole week was released in advance by the EADS press office.
