Holiday to California last month brought some ideal opportunities to take the wife round some museums. Unbeknown to me there are two museums at Chino- Planes of Fame and the larger more impressive Yanks Air Museum. One of the highlights has to be having spent 42 years spotting and never seen a C 46, there were 2 on the airfield. Wife not that impressed!!!! Yanks air museum is divided into an oldies hangar and a more modern Jet era hangar. Some of the real goodies are outside in /around the junkyard. Anyway on with some pics. Occasional lapses in identification knowledge (oops) if someone could fill in non identified aircraft most grateful. P63A Kingcobra ( I think) P40E P38L No idea what this is Also don't know what this is PB4Y-2 Privateer Dead Harrier! F 105D F104A And here it is The evasive beast C46F Cessna T37 C47A A7B A6E A4 FJ1 Fury F9F Another first F106B Delta Dart F100C A walk across the large apron revealed some unexpected items, Draakens and Magisters What is this? Another first C123 Convair 440? I will post the Planes of Fame separately, great place and great weather 110 Fahrenhit when these were taken

Not a Convair 440, but the military version of the Convair 340 the C-131. I think that one was actually based at Mildenhall in her distant past too......she is also currently airworthy as N131CW, and I think based in Arizona.
Nice shots.....any more? :-)

Nice report, heres a picture from my library,of Rich International C46 N74173,at the customs hut NW36th street at Miami International,in the early eighties, when I had permission to take photographs there,it was operating a Rich charter from the Bahamas,a sight to behold.
