This is now the latest news:
Air France crash: 41 bodies recovered 2009-06-10 07:30:00 Last Updated: 2009-06-10 08:23:46 Rio de Janeiro/Paris: Recovery teams have pulled an additional 17 bodies out of the Atlantic Ocean off Brazil, bringing the total number of bodies retrieved after last week's Air France plane crash to 41.
The airliner, travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris with 228 people on board, crashed into the ocean in the early hours of June 1 about 1,300 km northeast of Brazil's coast, in a region beset by rough seas and tumultuous storms, which have hindered recovery efforts.

This investigation seems to bring up more puzzles every moment ? Air France today reported that two of the passengers where of North African origin and had names of known terror suspects, they also admit that after doing postmortem background checks into them, it was discovered that they are similar in name only ! Having said that they also admitted that these two people would not have been able to board most other airlines after 911 with the pax name checks in place used by every other airline, WHY doesn`t or didn`t Air France Carry out these checks at Rio as they are supposed to do ? I hope the passengers concerned are indeed not guilty of anything more than having a similar name, but my real worry is that Air France failed to pick them up with any security check prior to boarding and check them out properly. Also as they had recently had bomb threats on this route so could it be that someone else also made the same mistake when they spotted the names of two known terror suspects ? I hope I am wrong because if not Air France will have a lot of questions to ask if they don`t already about security.
