Myself and the g/f just had 5 wonderful days in Frankfurt and the area, mainly for the Christmas Markets but of course it would have been very rude not to have some time at the airport! Flew BMI/Lufthansa from BHX, G-MIDS there and back, 1 hr 7 out, 1 hr 25 back.
Of interest to me and the g/f were the following. As usual Frankfurt didn't fail to impress! with the new 747-800 being a highlight for us and when we left yesterday our BMI A320 was parked right next to it, so got a great view of it.
The viewing deck is closed till late March so we spotted from McDonalds with no problems at all, and good job really as the rain was horrendous on 2 days! anyway, of note in 4 visits, 1 long (all day Monday) , 3 quick Tues eve, Wed morn and Thurs morning were!

LX-NVB Legacy
SX-DCE Cessna 560
D-CGBR Learjet 55
PH-ANO Cessna 560

an excellent stay, weather awful for 2 days, and very low cloud with at one time take offs stopped for 40 minutes. Another highlight was watching a Lufthansa A380 do a go around when less than 100 feet from touchdown with bad crosswinds! Great sight and even inside McDonalds you could hear it!
A lot of traffic was missed, with the new runway being used a lot for landings, so some went begging, but there's always next time!
Hotel was a quick bus ride away, and handy, 57 euros for a double room with breakfast and very comfortable, quiet and peaceful! our second stay there and would recommend it.
I hope this is of interest to some
