After a week at home it was back off to the middle east - this time with work for 2 weeks. I have changed jobs and now travel a lot, I just catching up with all these logs - lol.
I left Birmingham on Saturday evening on A6-EBV for the 6 hour 20 min flight to Dubai, then on to Muscat. On the way in we flew over a full looking ramp at Sharjah - lots of IL-76's on the deck. I only had 90 mins between flights so not too much logged at Dubai between 6.50AM and 8.20AM before I jumped onto EK862 A6-EML for the 40 min flight to Muscat

Was hoping to get the new 380 (ADR had just been delivered after my trip for the show) but the EK transfer buses are rubbish - all the side windows are smoked out so nothing could be made out as we drove past all the 380's on terminal 2.

Then it was out of the terminal to be picked up and taken to my hotel. I'm staying at the Park Inn Muscat, the drive was only 10 mins so I knew we were close to the airport but when I got to the room and opened the curtains I found out I was right on the flightpath, so SBS was quickly wired up and away we go. If landing past the hotel they go past at around 1500ft, if runways are turned they go past at about 5-6000ft on departure, as I type this on Monday evening the 2 Oman EMB-175's have just landed past the window. Room number is 528 right on the front corner of the hotel. Movements are not too frequent but there is a nightly LH 340-300 and the swiss 330 which stops off at Dubai first.
