'Speedbird 1960' has PM'ed me with an interesting Liverpool Airport b&w photos site. I think it may well have been linked before, but now has a number of rather interesting pre 1939 photos of KLM aircraft, Hudsons etc., added, although currently uncaptioned (I've offered my services!) www.chesterwalls.info/gallery/airport.htmlSome rare ones there, the three engined Spartan Cruiser, HP.42s, Lockheed Vega, Vultee VT-1, single engined Fokker F.VIIa, Me.108s, Vega Gull, Mew Gull etc are interesting pictures. Added later on modify: Have just found that this site has been linked before by former forum member 'Starways' in July 2011 - but I'l leave this post in place. Phil and I have worked on producing captions for the photos, and have supplied the list to Chesterwalls for consideration.

I'm delighted to announce that Steve Howe, owner of the Chesterwalls website has incorporated explanatory captions to 30+ shots of Liverpool Airport in the 1930s. Well worth another look now. www.chesterwalls.info/gallery/airport2.html

Great stuff. I wonder how many of us might have been in that photo of the visitors on the balcony.
