Here is a picture taken May 7th 1966. It was taken from the lead bus which I was on, with one or two others such as PHB. These were my favourite Corpy colours.

Fantastic, Ron. That'll appeal to quite a few people on here! My favourite corpy bus colour too. Loved the Liverpool coat of arms that also appeared on all our school exercise books too!
Cheers,
Dave

Wow! Great shot Ron. Brilliant colours. They're all brand new 700 series Leyland Atlanteans built by Metro-Cammel to Liverpools own design. Just two years after this photo was taken they became obsolete and had to enter Edge Lane works for major conversion to one-man operation. The following year they also lost the Coat of Arms which was replaced by the MPTE's 69 symbol. It would be a further five years (1974) before the green livery began to be replaced by the PTE's wishy-washy pale green and cream.
