So how long does a route have to have not operate before the airport can regard it as a new route? It’s been five years for goodness sake. Good question. However, if a music artist released a 5 year old album again, would you class it as being new?

Maybe the Zadar announcement wasn't known about by the airport when it was said there is to be 'two new destinations'.
If so, then there's another announcement due.

I’m sure the airport would of known they had the route. An airline wouldn’t surprise them. You really think Ryanair wouldn’t speak to the airport to try and get a deal first.

They would have known it would be in the offing but not necessarily when, airlines have been known to spring a route on them before.
The airport took 24 hours to acknowledge it plus the airport knew Zadar was a previous route so it won't be a new destination.

There are a couple of suggestions out there about another route, which would be a new destination and a new airline.

The airport took 24 hours to acknowledge it plus the airport knew Zadar was a previous route so it won't be a new destination. The airport took 24 hours to acknowledge it because the airport was closed all day on the day it was put on sale. You don't announce a new route when the airport is in turmoil, it doesn't send out the right message.

Twitter suggests that Ryanair will increase frequencies to Alicante (12pw), Cork (5pw) and Knock (6pw) next Summer. Girona returns twice weekly from August.

Ryanair have announced the closure of their bases at Nuremberg and Skvasta, they say due the late delivery of the 737 max. They have also said that there will be some slight flight reductions from further bases again due the Max problems. Does Boeing's decision to cease production of 737 Max's affect Ryanair's deliveries or not.

Yes. They have Max200s on order. It's only a challenge because there are older 738s leaving the fleet before heavy checks are due.

August 2020 (wc 10 Aug) comparison with August 2019 (wc 12 Aug) col2=2020 col3=2019 Number of based aircraft 4 4 Number of flights by based aircraft 69 74 Number of flights by non-based aircraft 50 60 Total of number of flights 119 134 Number of routes flown 28 34 Number deps per based aircraft per week 17.25 18.50 Average sector time per based aircraft 02:24 2:28 Total number of seats 44982 50652
If that stays as it is then its approx a 10% drop in pax total. But I cant see that it wont change or be added to as there are gaps all over the place. After the latest flurry of timetable changes the updated summary for wc 10 August 2020 is as follows: Number of based aircraft 4 Number of flights by based aircraft 74 Number of flights by non-based aircraft 54 Total of number of flights 128 Number of routes flown 31 Number deps per based aircraft per week 18.50 Average sector time per based aircraft 02:23 Total number of seats 47628
There are still gaps and I havent included the Lauda service to Vienna.

Thanks for the update, LPL. Once we add in the Lauda services to Vienna and Zadar, that appears to imply a slight increase for 2020.
