Tirana is the capital of the Republic of Albania, with borders formed by Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro and the Adriatic Sea. The Wikipedia entry for the city of Tirana: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TiranaThe Wikipedia entry for Tirana Airport: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tirana_International_Airport_N%C3%ABn%C3%AB_TerezaTirana to the UK is shown as being served by Albawings (seasonal), British Airways, easyJet and Wizzair, flying into Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton. The routes by airline, table already updated to include Wizz Air to Liverpool. Someone was quick of the ball with the update!

I believe Ryanair used to do Kiev from MAN and now they don’t go there that could be a potential new route for Wizz.

Hopefully one day they’ll open a base with maybe 2 A320s, Just hope the marketing team really sell the base and promote it. We don’t wanna another Blueair here today gone tomorrow situation.

Much to my surprise I see there are quite a number of destinations from Tirana served by Wizz, so whereas this is excellent news it appears not be that extraordinary. Nevertheless for those of us that remember the politics of a bygone age, who would ever have thought it?

Nevertheless for those of us that remember the politics of a bygone age, who would ever have thought it? Yes quite, Ron. I once had a very interesting experience flying into Tirana when I was working for PIA in the 1970s, but that does not belong in this thread. I had some dealings with Albanian Airlines when they leased the 146s they operated for a while. Not the pleasantest of people to work with and I admit it did colour my judgment of Albania and Albanians.

Always surprised at some people’s inability to just skim past a post that doesn’t interest them, rather than have a moan… I totally agree Andy, it isn't rocket science. Some members like to record first revenue services and first visits (sometimes coinciding). 'Simples' as Sergei would say. 🙂

Mods, could you bring these discussions to an end by either:
- changing the thread title to Wizz Air News instead of Wizz Air Route News - asking that delivery news be posted under Industry News
If we treat all posts consistently then there will be no reason for anyone to complain.

And maybe have a separate thread for repetitive photos too?

I don’t think historically Ryanair or easyjet deliveries have been in route news so perhaps industry would be more logical .

OK, OK, please give Admin time to consult with each other over this issue and see where/if compromises/changes might be needed.
Thank you.
Ametyst, there is already a Section/thread for repetitive photos, it is known as the Liverpool Movements Daily thread and the repetition changes daily. It is the only one (unless you count images of Dakotas in the Nostalgia Section), so why create another? I know what you are getting at, although Admin always prefer images over 'discussion' topics anytime.
Ah well, back to posting more Dakotas in Nostalgia - but I have a glorious old photo to finish todays post with - but only for those that are interested enough to look!

I don’t think historically Ryanair or easyjet deliveries have been in route news so perhaps industry would be more logical . Just forget it I will stop posting them fullstop. To put them in the Industry news would be a huge pain in the butt. The "Wizzair Deliveries" thread would disappear down the pecking order every time a new thread is added and would become very difficult to find. I do not have the time to search for it every time a new delivery is made. Admin would have to make it a "sticky" at the top. Quite frankly I am sick of this forum and all the bitching and moaning. Optimum 1878 you probably don't even know me, and I am definitely not pompous so get off you high horse !!! From now on I am tempted to say 'stuff it' and contribute nothing, and just be a taker like a lot of other people. It would save me many hours of hard work.
Amethyst .... what is the definition of 'repetitive photographs' ?? because I for one try to 'think outside of the box' and bring different perspectives to the Forum.

Actually not the answer I was considering. Just patience all.
Just let me finish my Nostalgia thread first.

Thank you Viscount. Airbus A346 your contributions are valued but the current threads do not engender themselves to your posts. Please bear with Viscount et al while they arrive at a compromise which works for everyone.
