As was said a line into thè airport would also serve the gigantic Speke estate and Hale.
It would also serve the thousands of working people at the sites in the area too.

I would say at a fraction of the cost that the Liverpool- Manchester Airport - Manchester proposal would cost. This route by the way does not make travel Manchester to Liverpool any faster than now. It is potentially highly detrimental to Liverpool Airport. I dont feel bus from South Parkway to Airport is good for the future, not with traffic levels.

The road from the retail park up to JLR is gridlocked at times during the day now, if there is a breakdown etc then you are stuck and wont be going anywhere for a while.
All this and thats not even noting the chaos up towards Asda.

If the trackless tram is the way to go, it must be segregated from traffic, otherwise it's a complete non starter. There have been no details on how this idea would work. Relying on a bus transfer from South Parkway is going to become less and less attractive with traffic levels, always increasing.

There are lots of aspects to the surface access to and from the airport that still need improvement and which would be quicker and cheaper to implement than a train. Some night time bus services for a start. There were also no black cabs on the rank at 2:15am this morning. On a more positive note the work to expand the Border Control area is complete and does make a difference. The next phase is to create a new entrance to that area and this is planned for next low season. The existing entrance from the apron is very poor for an airport of this size now.

The amount of people that walk up from the free drop off zone and walk through the landside arrivals door when arrivng passengers coming out is so annoying, thr taxi rank i think should be moved. That always creates congestion round there, sometimes so bad you cant even get past.

The amount of people that walk up from the free drop off zone and walk through the landside arrivals door when arrivng passengers coming out is so annoying, thr taxi rank i think should be moved. That always creates congestion round there, sometimes so bad you cant even get past. you get people smoking in that area as well

Rotheram appears to be Burnhams little helper now. Other than planning a few new stations he seems to have lost all interest in the Merseyrail expansion preferring grandiose schemes which benefit Manchester Airport to the detriment of Liverpool Airport.

Rotheram appears to be Burnhams little helper now. Other than planning a few new stations he seems to have lost all interest in the Merseyrail expansion preferring grandiose schemes which benefit Manchester Airport to the detriment of Liverpool Airport. I quite agree, I'd be amazed if we hear anything more about his Trackless Tram, I think that was just to keep disgruntled people quiet.

A trolley bus 🚎 was powered by electricity from over head cables and a driver no tracks or rails,I remember them from visiting family in London.

A train connection will never realistically happen until passenger throughput is many millions more ( bear in mind I also said Jet 2 will never come her) a decent access road, and tidy the place up along main road are bigger priorities in my opinion. Perhaps a shuttle bus from parkway operating frequent , guaranteed services when trains/ airport are open. Assuming trains aren’t on strike !!

Again a link would serve Speke estate and Hale, the many industries there and of course the airport all remembering this will be many years away (5?) by which time the airport could be over 7 million pax pa with the current set up of car parking unable to cope.
