I never said that Speke Boulevard is a quiet little backwater, I know it can be busy. But to give the impression that the route to the airport is constantly gridlocked is misleading and wrong. I think you are being over dramatic to suit your own narrative.

The buses should deffo be 24 hours daily, all buses 80 82 86 89A and 500 and at least maybe 2x hourly ESPECIALLY 0000 to 0600 speak summer May to September. Were I live (Aigburth) our nearest bus stop east to the airport is about maybe 10mins away from our house, if the buses were frequent enough I would definitely consider taking it there, and it drops you off right outside the door.I am surprised that the 82 terminates in Morrisons not the airport.

I'm amazed at the lack of vision here. The sort of non ambition that holds Liverpool back. Good night Think small be small should be the motto of Liverpool City Council.

Like bidding for and hosting Eurovision which was acclaimed as the best host city? And bus regulation comes under the Metro Mayor not the city council

The monies from the failed HS2 project will be quietly forgotten as the Torres lose the election or it will be quietly spent on projects south of Watford. As far as LJLA is concerned, such funds should be used for a high level rail link from Liverpool South Parkway down Speke Hall Avenue into an airport station; on to a joint Speke/Hale station with adequate car parking and then to Ditton junction rejoining the main LV/LDN line there. This would open LJLA to users in the Midlands and, via the Halton Loop, potential passengers in North Wales.

Airport lounge has a qr code to join a virtual queue.
On a separate note, "boarded" at gate 2, but we've been stood in the corridor for 20 minutes waiting to board the plane.

On recent visit this week, the terminal was busy, but flowing well. security quite quick (about 10 mins), although there were some problems at security. Problems over size of clear bags used. Didnt accept clear bags from other airports, only very small size instead. Some staff provided an additional bag for the contents, which was appreciated but one of the staff told pax to take some items out and ditch them. Lack of consistency. On the rejected hand luggage, one particular security staff was, well anal. The pensioner awaiting his bag in front of mine had every single item taken out and examined, even holding a pen and a toothbrush up to the light. It was embarrassing for the pensioner and appeared ludicrous. It also took 20 minutes and delayed many people inordinately. The security person left after this examination and the whole process speeded up immeasureably. Comments such as 'stupid' and even 'worse than manchester' I just hope it was new staff as I would not like the airport to be tarnished as otherwise the experience at the airport was good, even though it was very busy. The new lounge can't come too soon as that was also rammed and there were numerous people turned away. I take it that was why the entrance fee was over £40, I presume to decrease demand temporarily. (by the way, of 27 airport lounges used over the last 18 months, I found it the most expensive of those that I have used worldwide). The new customs area on arrival worked well, again very busy, but the queue moved quickly and hopefully this means that a lot fewer people will have to wait outside.

Unfortunately no matter what business your in you will always get a "jobs worth". I worked at lpl for a number of years as a security supervisor and these types really got my back up. I used to tell them do your job with professionalism and above all courtesy.
Unfortunately a little bit of power goes to the heads of these sad individuals who probably have nothing else in their lives but the job.
I saw many odd things from pigs heads to s*x toys go through the x ray machine and had many good laugh with the passengers but never ever would we belittle people.
I doubt that person will last long in the job, those people never do.

I have just had a look at Liverpool Airports website and it states 20 minutes not 40, everyone will have to be watching the time more closely.

can you leave and re-enter to restart the 20 minutes timer? No. Vehicles re-entering within 2 hours will be charged a minimum of £8 (the charge for 20-60 minutes). Changes can in to effect yesterday (17th July).

I know it’s only a small detail but the airport have recently introduced an automated announcement system for PA’s instead of having a single person doing all the announcements. This sure does add a more modern / friendly feel to the airport
