It looks the Belfast route and the Isle of Man are starting first from Liverpool, other routes may resume depending on customer demand. All passengers and crew to wear face masks. IOM currently has travel restrictions in place, so hopefully they are lifted by the 15th. People should review the website covid19.gov.im/general-information/travel-and-borders/

First a correction in my post earlier today , it says extra and should have said easyJet!!! Sent the post while lying in bed maybe I should have opened my eyes first. If we are all limited due quarantine etc on destinations in summer I would imagine places like jersey will have a high demand as everyone is desperate to get away. They will be able to use one of the idle A380 on the route.

There's a problem with everybody flocking to Jersey. There will probably be reduced seating capacity on aircraft. Reduced hotel accommodation and finally the prices of holidays will likely be horrendous. With the number of redundancies and reduced waged, not so many people will be able to afford them.I think it might be day trips for many.

I'm booked on the Jersey flight 21st June, but my Hotel website is saying closed until a least the 30th June ,so I'm assuming all hotels on the island are in the same boat.

I am watching the gradual reopening of flights, including those already operating to and from Budapest, and I am wondering how these flights will evolve with the 14 day quarantine for most arrivals, announced today.

here is a cutting from The Connection, an English Language newspaper in France.
I am interested to see that Manchester in not included in the airports from which flights will start shortly. Wondering if this is an error. I find it surprising., if true:-
"The budget airline, Easy Jet, said it intends to resume certain, mostly domestic, short-haul flights within France from Nice, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon and Lille. Services in and out of London Gatwick, Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Belfast, and Isle of Man, as well as Geneva in Switzerland, Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, and Barcelona in Spain, are also set to resume on the same date."

It’s correct Ron. Neither Manchester nor Luton amongst the airports announced by EasyJet

The 14 day quarantine period may not be as it seems. As well as the already announced exemptions, the Government stated on more than one occasion today that 'visitors' will be subject to quarantine and potential fines. It did not mention anything about returning UK residents from holidays.
Reading between the lines it looks as if they are giving the okay for foreign holidays to begin soon and will dovetail with how the UK airlines are responding.
Incidentally, they are also providing hand gels, questionnaires and temperature checks etc on arrival. Curiously this is the exact same precautions that I was subjected to on arrival in Vietnam, however that was in February. All cabin staff on flights also had masks and gloves. Not surprising that they have had only 360 cases and no deaths because of Covid. (Some kiwi friends have remained there during the crisis and have been impressed by Vietnams and New Zealands response).

This from the Government website.
