Been an entertaining afternoon down at the 27 mound.
I'm told that the BBMF Lancaster and a WWII fighter (Mustang?)both overflew the length of 09 at different times during the mid-afternoon.
At around 1610 the Vulcan beautifully, majestically flew the length of 27. A glorious sight and noise - unfortunately I was passing TNT on Hale Road at the time en route to watch the Tornados depart a little later, so no photo from me.
As the Tornados waited to depart 27 at around 1635ish, the BBMF Spitfire and Hurricane flew the full length of 09, before turning south.
Both todays sorties by the Tornados used the two standard grey scheme machines. The fancy "1,000,000 flying hours" tail schemed aircraft remained parked-up all day on the main apron.

Does anybody know when Learjet LX-TWO arrived? Cannot find it in the forum. Probably me getting old. It was in this morning, then departed. After having a great little flight to and from Sleap today, it was brill to see the Vulcan and Tornados. Thanks to everyone for posting all the photos of the weekend.

A few of mine for Sunday evening. I stayed over on the 27 mound - maybe not the best decision from either the light or angle. However judge for yourselves. I think you made the right decision Brian. Providing they remain in focus I like photo's like these as the aircraft's own lighting enhances them. Note worthy shots to illustrate the point are, the intensity of the colours from the afterburners in photo 3 and the way the landing lights not only stand out on photo 5 but reflect off the body and starboard fuel tank. In my opinion, it makes for a slightly more action pact picture.

Yesterday's Vulcan flight was tracked live by PlanePlotter's mlat system From Woodford she flew around the LPL zone to Hawarden then over LJLA and on down the river , before turning right , up the coast where she orbited for a while prior to commencing her display. Here's a snippet of the flight.... i48.tinypic.com/34g22d2.jpg
