looking at google maps today and was looking at "EL PASO" airport and noticed a strange aircraft, now I am quite good at aircraft recognition but this has me stumped. It looks like a 707 but its next to a convair 540 and is smaller than it. It's parked in the GA area south of 8 Right. There is a lot of interesting Aircraft visible on the Map, it looks like one of the Guppy's i used to see at Manchester in the Seventies is there as well. Just found a photo of the Guppy @ El Paso: www.flickr.com/photos/seaphoto/5541706151/Here's the Map Link to the Airport: www.flightradar24.com/31.79,-106.39/18 Select Satellite View. Mike

thanks for the replies lads but don't think it's a Convair 880 / 990, it's just too small. Wing span of a 880 is 120ft and a Cv240 is 91.9ft even the canadian version (CL66) is 105.4ft. I think there was a small 4 engined biz jet but can not think who built it.

Sadly, the CV-990 was broken up recently! Remember watching a TV documentary that included it's demise - don't remember which prog it was! When 'the grey cells' reload, I'll put the word out! In the interim, here's a vid of its destruction!
