The Plane Crash will be aired on Channel 4 Thu 11 Oct, 9pmIf you are like me and really don't bother with Facebook much, this program might get you signing up. You need to be a member to book a free virtual seat on this deliberate crash landing. (I have already booked mine.) An international team of scientists, experts and elite pilots deliberately crash land a 170-seat Boeing 727 passenger jet to study the mechanics of a plane crash in real timeThe Pilot and Co Pilot will parachute from the back of the B727 and it will then be crashed in a remote Desert in Mexico by remote control. www.channel4.com/programmes/the-plane-crash

I am glad i was'nt sat in the front, i think i might have some bad injuries though.
To be honest its quite scary to watch, but i think the data from this crash will definetly save lives in the future.

This is the result after the Crash for my seat, just check back in and it tells you yours. Michael, it’s likely you would have survived the crash.
82% OF THOSE WHO CHECKED IN ARE LIKELY TO HAVE SURVIVED
"In seat 22C, it’s likely that you would have escaped injury in the crash impact. At the rear of the plane the impact forces were around half of those at the front, peaking at around 6g – six times the force of gravity. You would have only experienced forces similar to a hit on a fairground bumper car.
However, it’s likely you would have been disorientated in the dust kicked up during impact, and your evacuation would have been complicated by overhead panels and oxygen masks hanging from the ceiling in this area."

An interesting programme. I'm wondering though with all the newer aircraft stored, A320 families, NG737's etc would it have been a different outcome with a more recent airframe?

I think I was a bit luckier sitting in the middle between the wings. I have a bit of a headache but I'll survive. The aircraft was XB-MNP 727-212 (c/n 21348) ex N293AS of Champion Air that was crashed 27-04-2012 for the program. Seemed a shame as it looked a great plane. Regards Beemer.

Looks like I'd have come out relatively unscathed, sitting in 28f. Not much damage at the back.
