Took a mate of mine to LPL early this morning and I was shocked to see the BP petrol station near the bridge charging £1.47/l for unleaded. That's 10p/l more than where I live which is only 7/8 miles away. Is there any particular reason for this?

We don't have many garages in Runcorn, at the Old Town end they are both BP, the one you went to has got a Subway / Starbucks and that could be the reason its so expensive. I only ever use that garage if i am nearly empty, i tend to use Asda most of the time.

I think they've got a cheek charging that much. That's the kind of price you'd expect to pay at a motorway services. Maybe they want the public to pay for their Gulp of Mexico fiasco. Boycotting them is the best message you can send them.

I didn't actually use it, but it speaks volumes if there are two US catering outlets operating out of the same area. I imagine the whole thing is franchised, and someone is trying to recover their outlay very quickly.
