Today while at CES in halebank I noticed alot of construction work going on between the the ford road and the westcoast main line. A little asking around and was told that Stobarts are building a rail yard for loading and off loading freight. Thought they already had a similar set up at widnes already ?

Surely, as the development is going ahead so close to Liverpool Airport, there will be air freight opportunities.

I would be very surprised if they did as they already own Southend airport don't they? and like TNT would rather use their own and road or rail the freight to other parts of the country.

I was thinking more on the lines of international traffic. With a freight depot at Widnes and the manufacturing capacity of the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands giving easier access to LJLA rather than to Southend, it struck me that there may be an opportunity for LJLA to become their Northern air hub. To the Continent initially, then who knows where? Just a thought.
