UKww Weather Warning for Heavy Snow Issued Sat 12/01/2013 2000GMT Areas affected: England (Excluding SW England), Wales & Scotland Valid from: 0000GMT Sunday 13th January 2013 - 1200GMT Tuesday 15th January 2013 General evolution: Two occluded fronts within a cold air mass will bring snow to large parts of the UK. A discrete low will also develop later into the forecast period bringing further snow. Forecast: An area of heavy rain will move into Scotland early on Sunday turning to snow. Later into Sunday the snow will head SE into northern England and Wales before heading further east across England on Monday. A discrete low is forecast to develop over SE England late on Monday which will lead to further snowfall in this area into Tuesday. Accumulations of 5-10cm are expected across wide areas with up to 15cm where snowfall is heaviest and most prolonged, not exclusively over higher ground. These highest totals are expected over Scotland, Wales, SE England & E England. Please listen to local radio/television broadcasts for up to date information on travel conditions. UKww will monitor this warning and update when necessary.

So the BBC, well known for over-forecasting snowfall, are suggesting that Liverpool is the epi-centre for a large dumping of the white flakes on Friday 18th, affecting the NW, North Wales and NW Midlands.
One hopes the Airport have taken the advance warning.
We'll have to sit back, adjust our travel plans and see what happens.
