jiveturkey Have a look at DTV MOVEMENTS .CO.UK. They have a listing of the scrap yards around Davis Monthan, that they update on a regular basis showing the position of what is in the yard. Also Scramble do quite a lot of trip reports for USA, that may help. I called at Mojave a few years ago and asked at the office and for a few dollars they will drive you around the stored aircraft. I do know that they stopped you taking photos a couple of years ago. I don't know whether this still applies. I hired a plane from Tuscon IAP and did the overflight around Monthan and then flew over Marana and then into Pinal Air park which is inaccessible other than by aircraft. Major Northwest Storage.

Jiveturkey,
I visited the area last in 2010 and if it's old USAF stuff you are after then Pima museum is proably the best place , you can get on a bus tour of Davis Monthan or if you want to see everything from above an overflight from one of the local airports is needed. There are a few "oldies" at Avra Valley airfield aswell. When are you thinking of going,as I am out there again in April this year so will be putting some info and photos on here when I get back. If you are interested in old/stored airliners then you can combine the overflight of Davis Monthan with a flight over Marana Pinal, there is also Phoenix -Goodyear and Kingman that store airliners of various sizes (Tucson International also has stored airliners). A bit further west and you have Victorville and Mojave which again have a lot so stored airliners and can be overflown from a local airport although it is approx a three hour flight to do both ! If you need any more info just ask and I'll see what I can do ! cheers Nick
