Guys, I know it's probably the wrong forum but I've a question. Haven't been to Liverpool for a while. I did a photoshoot amongst the landing light array at 27 a while ago and I've been asked by a couple of dance music producers to do a shoot and suggested this as a location a while ago. Question is, is there still decent access to this area or has the situation changed. Will be a shoot at sunset looking west towards the runway. If anyone can shed light on it, would be great. Thanks in advance.

With 09 the active, took the dogs down to Pickering's Pasture. Wished I had taken them to the 27 field!! A distant shot of the first go-around of the BAe.146/RJ G-BVRJ in all white 'colours', off 09 turning north, left-hand into the circuit. From near the same spot, the pair of Tornado GR.4s off 09 turning hard right-hand out over the river to depart northwards. Again rather distant and not that pin-sharp either as I had to run a few paces back to the car to grab the camera! In truth nearly didn't even get a distant record of the pair.

In answer to Spencer Cameron's question.
The field at the 27 end of the runway, through which the approach lights stand is still fully open to the public to wander through - although the days of public access are coming to an end sometime soon. The grass is tall in places and the brambles impassable in others, although a broad path of shorter grasses run parallel to the lights on the northern side, and there is the currently closed-off section of lane to the south side.
If you are taking others there I would suggest you get down a few days before, park-up and wander around, a reconnaissance so you have an idea of parking, pathways and best locations before taking others there. I can arrange the loan of a dog if you don't want to stand out! There can be groups of youths with motor-bikes/quads around at times in the evenings. For sunset, you need three factors to prevent a wasted trip, one clear skies (rare); a wind/breeze from the west (ie landing on 27) and aircraft movements - getting these conditions all to occur together is chance! The LJLA Airport website arrivals page gives an indication of the likely times of landings to 'maximise' the number of movements when planning when to be there.
Let me know if you have further questions.
As to wether this question is posted in the right section, well it doesn't fit any other section better, so I'm (as administrator) leaving it just where it is!!
