610 Squadron Association had a hangar tour of Hawarden Air Services facility on Thursday 27th.
Many thanks to Caroline Craft at HAS for allowing us to visit.
Would like to know if anyone has visited the maintenance hangar of Hawarden Air Services lately and can tie up a few of the frames in there for me.
A dark coloured Gazelle at the rear of the hangar and 2 strikemaster fuselages under maintenance...there were 3 but G-SOAF was logged ok.
People have asked what the new cafeteria is like and can recommend it very highly...dinner at £4.80 and excellent views of the HAS apron and the runway we even managed to time it for the Belugas departure as we finished lunch!!
The final hangar we visited contained the stored AN-2s..what a shame to see them in their present condition...does anyone remember the "jungle drums"?? when they came in through Seaforth 20 years ago??
Would have put "twitchers" to shame!!
