Seen around the pond on Southside at MAN. What looks like two types of Dragonfly and a Butterfly types unknown.

Don't know about the insects, though I've seen the blue iridescent dragonfly around Rostherne Mere. I think the flutterby is a meadow brown.

Hi Brian, Dave is correct, the first is a Damselfly (wings straight back)and the last is a Meadow Brown. The second is a Dragonfly (wings held outwards)and the flattened body suggests some sort of Chaser, although the angle of the shot makes it hard to tell(not that I am good at this, but have just been trying to identify some pictures I took today) I took a picture of a similar Damselfy myself today: ...hope this helps a little Phil
