Myself and the g/f were there last month for my birthday (52, I know I don't look it) and saw 5 of the 6! only one missing was Sir Nigel Gresley. We saw Bittern in York station in steam on a charter, looked magnificent, and I have to say they have done wonders with Dominion of Canada and Dwight D as they both came into the country not in the best of condition, A pleasure to see them and as you said, a once in a lifetime thing

Calflier, Nice photos. I went to Shildon when Dwight and Dominion arrived. In a strange way, I actually preferred Dominion when it was still in its original Brunswick green, rust and all to the pristine garter blue it wears now.
I went last month when it joined Dwight and Mallard and got a totally uncluttered photo of three of them! The six will be present again for a final farewell last week in October, I think. I will go then, but it will probably be chaos again. There will also be free entry to a late-night light show in October when the locos are to be specially illuminated.
Cheers,
Dave

Here's a couple I took in June when there were three there (Mallard, Dominion of Canada and Dwight D Eisenhower). Cheers, Dave

Great photos and thanks for posting as I am unlikely to see this spectacle. The Dwight D Eisenhower in photo six looks just perfect, just like the pristine "O" gauge Hornby engine that my brother used to have, and gave away to a friend for his kids to destroy.

RT Yes Ron,when I Took the photo I thought thats just like the Hornby 00 version(or vice versa),but they are around for a while yet, with some photo shoots in the autumn, but not as easy for you to get there, anyway thanks for the comment. best regards Calflier.
