it has just been announced that Hawarden will have six new VRPs from 19th September. I don't know why they have introduced more, anyone any clues?

At the moment Hawarden doesn't have any VRPs, according to my charts and the last time I flew there back in December of last year. So I'm guessing they have been added to increase the awareness and safety of the VFR GA flights in/out? Surely it's not a bad thing?
And if anyone is wondering where they are: Beeston Castle 530742N 0024131W Flint Bridge 531346N 0030400W Mold Town 530954N 0030731W Padeswood Cement Factory 530916N 0030342W Poulton Disused Airfield 530756N 0025330W Wrexham Industrial Estate 530221N 0025433W

A good thing, especially being so close to lots of controlled airspace. I got the information from the latest Gasco Flight Safety Extra. I know what you mean about the charts, I have landed at Hawarden several times and VRP was never an issue.

Yeah, the amendments to add the VRPs on the charts are on the AIS website, at the bottom of this page: www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php%3Foption=com_nats_vfr&Itemid=357.htmlThey'll be added properly in the new version, just have to note them on for the time being! Same opinion here, any benefit to safety is good in my eyes! VRPs put everyone on the same hymn sheet when joining and leaving, I find them so much more useful than trying to find a random town that all the locals use for navigation!
