a visit down to the pier head with the wife ended up on a ferry trip. i bumped into someone that i hadn't seen for ages, he is a pilot on the ferries and we were invited onto the bridge for the trip....what a result!! here's some pics of the "Crown Princess" taken from the "Royal Daffodil". hope you enjoy. ian.

I marvel at the physics and the technology that keeps a thing like that upright in the water. Same thing with aircraft like the 747. I know enough about the theory of flight, but it never ceases to amaze me how they so sedately, (it seems) they just ascend from the runway. Relying on the difference in pressure between above and below the wings to just make it fly. marvelous.

A beautiful ship--so nice to see something like that at Liverpool. Bet the BBC didn't make anything of it. A bit too positive perhaps.

John - not this time sadly, though the ship is almost a regular now given this was its third visit of the year...!

There was another Cruise ship departing at roughly the same time I watched them depart out past Formby the previous ship may have been the Fred Olsen Line " Bouddica " not certain though, no doubt a ship spotter will know.
